Scythian Pectoral collage in a wooden frame, 33*33 cm
The Scythian Pectoral is known far beyond Ukraine. Found during excavations of the Tovsta Mohyla burial mound, it caused a sensation and remains one of the most interesting jewelry finds in Ukraine.
The delicate, detailed workmanship and exquisite shape of the pectoral suggest to historians that it was most likely the work of Greek craftsmen in the 4th century BC. The interesting motifs typical for the Scythians indicate that it was commissioned by the Scythian nobility.
Therefore, the popularity of copies of this pectoral remains high. Even in the Kyivan Lavra, it is not the original that is on display, but a masterful replica. This medium-sized composition with a gilded copper copy of the Scythian pectoral can decorate your home or office, or become a wonderful gift related to the outstanding milestones of Ukrainian history.
Anyone interested in Ukrainian history, art history, and jewelry in particular will appreciate such a gift.
Size: 330*330*30 mm.
