“Ukraïner. Ukrainian Insider” is a compelling print edition created by the Ukraïner media project, based on its 2016–2018 expedition across all historic regions of Ukraine. The book highlights the most vivid stories and discoveries – from Sloboda Ukraine and Podillia to Volyn and Tavriia – offering readers a rich, authentic look at the country. Atmospheric photography showcases Ukraine as a diverse, surprising, and deeply inspiring place, while the featured narratives introduce remarkable people shaping its cultural identity. The project was initiated by Bogdan Logvinenko.
First published in 2019, the book quickly became a bestseller, with several reprints and more than 50,000 copies sold. International editions appeared in the United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany, making it one of the most widely gifted books about Ukraine worldwide. This updated edition includes refined texts, new materials, and stories enriched with the context of the full-scale war. The British edition features a foreword by publisher Polly Powell, who first received the book as a gift from a woman who was evacuated from Hostomel and found a shelter in her house. Over the years, Ukrainian Insider has reached prime ministers, presidents, and diplomats, becoming a powerful instrument of cultural advocacy for Ukraine.
